• Usage data — anonymized page views and download counts for service improvement
• Temporary processing data — YouTube video URLs submitted for download conversion (deleted within 1 hour)
• Technical data — browser type, device type, and IP address (standard web server logs, retained for 30 days)

2. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your name, email address, or any personal identification
• Credit card numbers or payment information (the service is free)
• The content of videos you download
• Your YouTube account credentials or watch history
• Files after they are downloaded — everything is auto-deleted within 1 hour

3. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for security purposes:

• Session cookie — required for CSRF protection and Turnstile security verification. Expires when you close your browser.
• Theme preference — stored in your browser localStorage to remember dark/light mode preference. Never leaves your device.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

4. Third-Party Services

YTDownloads integrates with the following services that may collect their own data:

• Cloudflare — provides security (Turnstile CAPTCHA) and content delivery. Cloudflare may process IP addresses for security filtering.
• YouTube — videos are downloaded from YouTube servers. YouTube may log the download request.
• Ad networks — we display advertisements to keep the service free. Ad networks may use cookies for ad personalization.

5. Data Security

We implement security measures including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• CSRF protection on all form submissions
• Automatic file deletion after 1 hour
• No permanent storage of user-submitted URLs or download files
• HSTS enforcement and Content Security Policy headers

6. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. If you have concerns about privacy, you can:

• Use the service without accepting cookies (functionality may be limited)
• Clear your browser localStorage to remove theme preferences
